The ultimate digital control for several trains on the same track

Right from the start we have disclosed our technology. The transparency, capacity and, above all, expandability 'fitted into' the system led to Digital plus being chosen as the basis for the standardisation of digital railway control systems, after extensive testing by independent NMRA experts (US National Model Railroad Association, the largest association of its kind worldwide).
The NMRA standard describes

  • the technical properties that digital control components must satisfy as a minimum requirement
  • the 'RPs' (recommended practices).

Compatible or conform?

'Compatible' simply means 'compliant'. 'Conform' means 'approved', 100% conformity with the standard. The NMRA tests components for their 100% conformity with the NMRA standard and awards its 'conformance seal'. Lenz Elektronik GmbH has all its components tested for standard conformity.

What does 'standardised' mean?

'Standardised' describes the way in which information is sent to locomotive decoders via the track.

Who created this norm?

The NMRA's 'DCC Working Group' of digital control manufacturers, of which Lenz is a member, developed this standard based on the Digital plus control system.

How does this standardisation benefit you?

First and foremost, this standardisation ensures the functioning of components in accordance with the standard. Standardisation will eventually secure the future of this type of model railway control: You are not dependent on a single manufacturer, but able to supplement your control system with devices of other manufacturers which also conform to the standard.
